My long time friend James Huggins and I started our first film in 2001, Giblet. It was quite an undertaking and we learned a great deal about 3d animation.

We finished Giblet just in time to enter the film in a few film festivals. We won quite a few of them:

• Giblet Trailer: Best of Animation 2002 IADT’s Design Expo.
• Best of Show 2002 IADT’s Design Expo
• Giblet Short film: Best of animation 2003 Independents’ Film Festival

Glimpse into my workflow:

I made a suite of mel scripts to make navigating the world, facial animation, and animating the characters faster and a hell of a lot easier. The rigs were developed with a lot of love to say the least. I wanted the rigs to be easy to control so we could pose and animate the characters quickly.

The facial animation came out great as well. We received many compliments from the professors at the Academy of Design.
